How to get to the resort by car?

Resort Address: 122 Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217 view on google maps

**If using a GPS please note that Ferny Avenue may be listed as Gold Coast Highway**

If traveling south bound on the Pacific Hwy take Smith Street Exit #66 and follow through approx 8km to the Broadwater. At the 'T' intersection with traffic lights turn right into Marine Pde. Travel south, past Australia Fair at Southport, across the Sundale Bridge heading towards Surfers Paradise. Stay in the left hand lane. After the bridge, turn left at the third set of traffic lights. Continue along Gold Coast Hwy south bound staying in the right hand lane. Turn right at the traffic lights into Cypress Ave, continue along until next set of traffic lights. Turn right again onto Gold Coast Hwy north bound, continue along Hwy 600m and Paradise Resort Gold Coast is located on the left hand side.

If travelling north bound on the Gold Coast Highway, as you approach Surfers Paradise the Gold Coast Highway changes name to Ferny Ave. Continue north (suggest left lane) following Ferny Ave through Surfers Paradise. Paradise Resort is located on the left hand side immediately after Norfolk Avenue.

How to get to the resort from the airport?

Transfer options from either Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) or Brisbane Airports include taxis and coaches. Drive time by car from Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) is 40-50minutes, and from Brisbane is 70-90minutes, however coach transfer times vary depending on the number of passenger drop offs.

Is the resort wheelchair friendly?

The entire resort is wheelchair friendly with easy access elevators, ramps and extra wide hallways. For enquiries on our wheelchair friendly styled rooms, please contact the team on 1800 074 111.

What is provided in rooms?

All bed linen and bath towels are provided during your stay. Pool towels are available for purchase at nominal costs from the Resort Shop and Splashes Mini Mart. Our bath towels may not be used for pools, beaches or taken away from the resort. Rooms are serviced daily by our housekeeping department. Our Resort rooms and Interconnecting rooms are hotel style, with tea and coffee making facilities, iron and board and a small fridge. The Resort Family Rooms, Junior Bunkhouse and King Bunkhouse Rooms do offer a microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery.

If you are not staying in these room types you can arrange to hire microwaves or bottle warmers from our Resort Shop along with a range of other items to make your load a little lighter when travelling. Please note that due to fire regulations, we do not allow guests to bring their own cooking appliances.

Are your rooms serviced daily?

Rooms are serviced Monday to Saturday. Our Sunday Sleep In initiative gives you the option of sleeping in with no disruption. Rooms are serviced by request only on Sundays. You will be required to contact reception before 8.00pm Saturday evening to schedule the service.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check in time: from 2pm

Our Reception is open 24hours a day. If you arrive before 2pm you are welcome to store your luggage at our reception desk and enjoy all of our wonderful facilities prior to check in time and on the day of check out.

Check out time: before 10am

Should you wish to delay your departure, please contact reception the morning of departure as late check-outs are subject to availability and may incur a fee. 

Do you have room service?

We don’t have room service. You can however order takeaway meals from the Poolside Café & Bar or purchase items from Splashes Mini-mart to take back to your room.

What internet facilities are available at the resort?

Wireless internet is available complimentary in most public areas of the resort, limited to 200MB of data per 24hours. Captains Quarters has high speed internet available with up to 1GB of data for a small fee.  

Where is the giant chess board and when can I use it?

Our giant chess board is 4m x 4m with pieces standing approx 1m high. It is located just outside of the pool area near level 1, wing 2 and available for all guests to enjoy between 9am-6pm daily. 

Can you hire items from the resort such as strollers, bottle warmers etc?

If you are staying in a Resort Room or Interconnecting room you can arrange to hire microwaves or bottle warmers from our Resort Shop, along with a range of other items to make your load a little lighter when travelling. Please note that due to fire regulations, we do not allow guests to bring their own cooking appliances.

Are there laundry facilities at the resort?

Coin operated laundry facilities are located in the lower level of the resort. Washing / Drying cost is $5 per load. Open via room key access 24 hours.

Are pool towels provided?

Pool towels are available for purchase at nominal costs from the Resort Shop and Splashes Mini Mart. Our bath towels may not be used for pools, beaches or taken away from the resort.

What are the Waterpark, Swimming Pool & Spa operating hours?

The Lagoon pool and spa are open from 7am to 9pm daily. The water parks are open between 9am- 4:00pm (extended until 5.30pm during the Summer months). Please note the junior waterpark (0-5yrs) is closed between 12pm-2pm. Use of the Water parks and resort facilities is strictly limited to in-house guests only.  

Can my children use the kids club on the day of arrival and departure?

Can visitors use the facilities at Paradise Resort?

Our facilities, excluding our food and beverage outlets, are for exclusive use of Paradise Resort in-house guests. All guests of Paradise Resort will be issued with a guest identification wristband on arrival. The wristband is a requirement of entry to the waterpark, kids club and resort activities.

Is babysitting available at the resort?

The Staff in our Resort Shop can arrange babysitting services on site, please contact our staff for more information. Please allow 4 hours notice. (Subject to availability.)

What is the games room?

The games room is an unsupervised area with coin-operated arcade style and challenge machines. Open daily from 8:30am to 8:30pm.

What does the continental breakfast buffet include?

A continental breakfast is traditionally a selection of cold items, not a hot buffet. Our breakfast buffet includes selection of juices, yoghurts, cereals, fresh and preserved fruit, breakfast cakes, croissants, toast and preserves, tea, coffee and milk. Hot al-a-carte options are also available in Bistro Zagame’s and the Poolside Café.

Do you have car parking available to guests?

Undercover car parking is available at the resort for $15* per car per day - spaces are limited, we recommend pre-booking by calling our team on 1800 074 111. Alternatively, an outdoor car-park is located on the corner of Ferny and Norfolk Avenue which is adjacent to Paradise Resort for $5* per car per day - spaces are limited and cannot be reserved. Parking permits can be purchased from reception upon arrival and must be clearly displayed on the dashboard at all times. Failure to display a valid permit may result in your car being towed at your own expense. *prices are subject to change without notice.

The height of the undercover car park is 2.0 metres. The majority of four wheel drives are under this measurement, however remember to take in to account your roof rack if you have got one fitted to your vehicle.

Ants and Insects

Insects and pests are quite common in tropical Queensland, especially during warmer months. To deter unwanted visitors during your stay, it is recommended to keep screen doors closed and avoid leaving food on benches and floors.

Will I incur credit card surcharges at the resort?

Please note that fees will apply for payments made by credit card as follows:

2% surcharge for Visa and Mastercard and 3% surcharge for Amex, Diners and JCB.

Do you have a Gym onsite?

A cardio gym is located onsite equipped with a treadmill, bike, rowing machine, fit balls and yoga mats. Open 24hours for your added convenience and free of charge for use by hotel guests only. Children are not permitted in the gym.

What actions has the resort taken to become more sustainable and environmentally friendly?

Over the past 12 months our Management Team have introduced a range of sustainable guidelines and eco friendly initiatives which include:

  • Switching to the use of eco-friendly cleaning products and chemicals throughout the resort
  • The purchase of recycled goods including photo copy paper, food packaging and kids craft items
  • Introduction of compost bins for green kitchen waste in our kitchen 
  • Replacement of individual soaps/conditioners in all rooms to reduce waste.
  • During our 2014 refurbishment of 102 rooms, we replaced toilet cysterns with economy water saving units, removed bath tubs in 100 rooms and introduced water saver shower heads to all guest bathrooms further assisting in reducing water waste.
  • We have replaced our electrical water heating units with the latest gas alternatives to assist in the wastage of power.
  • We have replaced lighting in public areas and the refurbished rooms with high efficency, low power usage LED alternatives.
  • We introduced measurable KPI's in managing, reducing and the introduction of sustainable practices within the Resort.
