RESORT UNVEILS TWO MILLION DOLLAR UPGRADE
An additional $2 million investment will see the launch of 100 newly refurbished rooms at Australia's number one destination for families - Paradise Resort -in mid-July this year.
A high demand for the accommodation of families larger than four people, combined with the chance to further the holiday experience at the Resort, has brought about the significant capital investment by the Zagame Group.
Resort General Manager, David Brook, said this refurbishment is only stage one of the Resort's upgrade, with ninety-nine rooms in wing three of the accommodation house receiving renovation.
"The 100 rooms are now made up of 78 Superior Resort Rooms, 9 Superior Junior Bunkhouse Rooms and 12 Superior Family Rooms, and 1 Family Spa Suite" said Mr Brook.
"Our Family Rooms and King Bunkhouses traditionally sleep five people but for families of six or more the only option until now has been to purchase two resort rooms. We have now added bunk beds to our Superior Family Rooms allowing the room to sleep up to six people."
Owner Robert Zagame has a background in design with his own fashion label Rob and+nbsp;Lulu and has been instrumental in making sure the rooms are modern and vibrant but family-friendly and practical.
"Mr Zagame requested the use of locally-run businesses for a bulk of the work, handpicking companies including Madders Kitchens to manufacture all of our carpentry, Beds Galore located in Burleigh to purchase all of our bunk beds and mattresses, Surfers Paradise Locksmiths for our door hardware and other local companies to supply and install our air conditioners, carpet, bathroom supplies," said Mr Brook.
The refurbishment signals another major capital investment by the Zagame family, who purchased the Resort in late 2010.
"To date our owners have already invested over $5million on facilities including the entire transformation of our pool area to include two new waterparks, swimming pool and two spas, a new caf+eacute; and bar, mini-mart, cardio gym, adventure playground, games room, enhancements to our activities and entertainment program including our new characters and stage shows, the renovation of 16 King Bunkhouse rooms and most recently our brand new ice-skating rink - Planet Chill."
Mr Brook believes it is this continual focus on delivering the ultimate in family accommodation experiences that has made the Resort a favourite of holidaying families in recent years.
"We have a firm kids first philosophy at the Resort, catering for babies and toddlers right through to 12 year olds. By focusing our attention on keeping kids happy and entertained, we ensure that our parents' stay is that much more enjoyable."
In addition to design enhancements the stage one refurbishment includes the installation of microwaves to all of the Superior Resort Rooms for added convenience and all rooms will be fitted with HDMI and USB ports for direct plug in access.+nbsp;+nbsp;
"All rooms have received a total refit including all furnishings and a total bathroom fit out and guests can upgrade to one of these newly renovated rooms for only $30 more than their original version," said Mr Brook.
The newly refurbished wings will be named after the Resort's colourful mascots/characters: Captain's Quarters, Cleo's Castle, Astro's Alley and Dusty's Digs and finishing touches will include new door numbers and room keys themed around each of the four characters. The new character room keys will be available to take home as a special memento of your family holiday.
"We are looking forward to welcoming guests to a refreshed and enhanced accommodation experience with the upgrade. The owners plan to renovate the remaining rooms in 2014 with dates to be released later in 2013."
